Embedded Material

Activity 6 is about embedding material in to your posts. I have been waiting for this activity since this is something that I think could be really useful for using my blog to teach Swedish.

We have gotten a long list with ideas on where you can create things to embedd in your blog posts. Of course I had to have a try with some of them. Here's something that I created at Answergarden, and since I know that right now most of my readers aren't from Scandinavia I am really interested in knowing what you know about Sweden (in just one word!).

Describe what you know about Sweden with one word... at AnswerGarden.ch.
With students I would use AnswerGarden to do for example quick grammar exercises:
  • Add an adjective
  • Add a synonym for "sad"
Which you later on can branch out with writing exercises or speaking exercises.

Of course I also had to try out this tool from ToonDoo and create my own cartoon.  reaching out

Toondoo is easy too use and you can create your own personas or even get random personas to choose from. This would also be a great tool to use for language learners. The cartoon format is good for beginners, while it doesn't require long and complicated writing. I found it hard to fit the text properly in to the bubbles and when I look at it in my blog I can't make out the text. I have to try and redo it, but you can always check it out on ToonDoo.
Well, I wanted to add a Voki as well, but I don't seem to be able to figure out from where I should save the code. It'll be here later on!

  1. Your avatar looks better on the top. I answered your form and I love how you can see the results in the cloud format! I'm going to try that sometime. (:
