Effective About-Me-Pages and other pages

This is my contribution to the third activity for the 30-days-to-kick-start-your-blogging challenge. This activity has been about adding About-Me-pages and other pages to my blog. It has also been about finding out what is essential to an effective About-Me-page.

Well, what makes an About-Me-page effective? I think it is important to tell your readers who you are. When I read other people's About-Me I would like to know what they do and why they do their blogging. If the blogger is a teacher I really like to know what subjects they are teaching and which age-groups. It's also interesting to find extra material, as presentations or articles. Ways to contact the blogger should also be included. I also checked on some blogs that were authored by organisations and several people - and I found some examples where it seems as if they don't feel like they have to introduce themselves.

It also got me thinking about what other kind of pages I would like to add to my blog. For starters I have also added a reading page and I will probably add some more soon.
